The Sharm El Sheikh and Kunming-Montreal Agreements confer legitimacy and responsibility on the three basins of biodiversity ecosystems and tropical forests to establish a model of global governance and governance rules.
11h – 13h
The Coalition of the 3 basins would endorse the main strategic and operational objectives of the United Nations’ Decade on the Restoration of Ecosystems by adopting a 2025 – 2035 work program, composed by regional and global investment portfolios. A block funding mechanism will ensure the collection and distribution of funds to the three basins to nance the programs of each basin.
11h – 13h
The establishment of a global and sustainable nancing mechanism for the three basins presupposes setting up reliable and predictable sovereign carbon market oers, a solid and long-term sovereign carbon market demand, and mobilizing the capital market to prenance a bankable sovereign premium carbon market.
11h – 13h
The conclusions of the United Nations are unanimous and unambiguous about the criticality of biodiversity ecosystems and tropical forests and the preeminent role of science in nding solutions to increase the eectiveness of initiatives and resources allocated to the preservation and restoration of ecosystems.
11h – 13h
Reintegration of climate and biodiversity into a global framework requires reconciling the two themes within international regulatory bodies, work and cooperation programs at the ecosystem level, and nancing methods by multilateral and bilateral donors. Only this multipolar convergence will ultimately make it possible to bring together and address these two issues that are now distinct but tomorrow integrated.
11h – 12h
Global Platform for Civil Society and Indigenous Community

Partner: UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments)
